Designer Challenge - Black and White

Hello Everyone,

Boy this is a crazy summer I can't believe where it has gone. I created this card for the Designer Challenge hosted by Cassandra over at My Creative Time. The challenge is black and white. So here it is:

This card is a standard size A2.  The products I used were MCT Floral Sentiments and the chunky jar accessories butterfly die. The paper is Paper Studio Boho Chic and then velum and black and white cs. The thinking of you is embossed in white embossing powder and I added twine and brads to attach the velum and pearls on the butterflies. I love making black and white cards but I love adding just a hint of color like red. Looks better in person just couldn't get a great picture.

Thanks,

Designer Challenge

Hello My Creative Friends,

Today I want to share a card that I created for the My Creative Time Designer Challenge. The challenge was to create a square card any sized square.
Here is my entry:

I started off with a 4 1/4 square card base in light yellow. The top piece of cs was cut into a 4" square which I used a cuttlebug embossing folder. I used my circle nestibility die to cut out the circle. When I cut out the circle I laid the white cs on the card base and just cut through both layers. I then created the circle frame with the next bigger sized die and the original one. I stamped a butterfly from a Gina Kay stamp set (Dogwood and Butterfly) and it fit pretty good with MCT's butterfly die in the Chunky Jar Accessories Set. I cut out 2 and hung the butterfly in the window with fishing line between the 2 layers. I finished it off with sheer ribbon and a sentiment "Hello" from MCT's Floral Sentiments. (a go to stamp set). The white embossed layer and the hello banner was popped up.

This is how I attached the butterfly, I used scotch tape to attached to the base and then applied the white layer.

Thanks for stopping by,

Designer Challenge~ Bling it up!

Hello Everyone,

There is  CHALLENGE over at My Creative Time and the challenge is Bling up the project of your choice.

Here is my project:

Here is my video showing how I made it.

I started it out with white cs cut at 41/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. The green cs is cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and the white cs is cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. I used 3 colors ink in making the patterned paper. Stampin up colors perfect plum, certainly celery, and blue bayou. I used 3 of the stamps in the set Seeing Spots from Stampin up. I used My Creative Time Vintage sentiments for the Thinking of you which I stamped on white cs and backed it with green. (a go to set, love it) Now the card looked good but I blinged it up with my stardust pen in the small blue circles and then I added the purple crystals in the bigger circles. Love making pattern papers with stamps.

Designer Challenge Thursday ~ CRITTER CARD CHALLENGE

Hello  Everyone,

Today I have a set of 4 -  3 x 3 cards for the challenge over at My Creative Time hosted by Glora.

I used kraft cs for the base and I used a background stamp for the lines. (impression obsession cover a  card stamp) The sentiments are from MCT Vintage sentiments. One flower is a die from MCT. Two are a die from My Favorite Things and the last one is a stamp I cut out from Stampin Up. The leaves are also a die from MFTs. I just had to make flowers we have them popping up everywhere and they are so beautiful. Love the Spring.

Thanks,

MCT Designer Challenge ~ Miss Cassandra

Hello Everyone,
There is another Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time and Cassandra is the host.

The challenge is a COLOR CHALLENGE!! The Colors of the Rainbow to be exact!  All you have to do is make a project of your choice using 3 of the following 6 colors: RedOrangeYellowGreenBluePurple.  For a more difficult challenge - if you dare...use ALL 6 colors!!!
Here is my entry:
I concentrated on the 3 colors green, blue and red. This is an A2 sized card and I ran 3 rows of washi tape on the left side. You're  one of a kind is a MCT stamp from More of My Favorite Sayings and the button die cuts are from Stitched button dies. I glued 2 together (for strength) so I could run the twine through them and tie a bow.

Thanks,

Designer Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Well it is time for another challenge over at My Creative Time. This is one of my favorite ones to enter they are all so creative and different. For the Challenge we are to make something Spring Related and be sure to have a Die cut  on it somewhere.

Here is my project:

First off this is an A2sized card.  I started with the holes which I created with my sewing machine. I just ran the card straight on my machine without any thread. I love doing this the holes are so perfectly created this way.  If you know me I say this because I am a sewer from way back since the 7th grade. I have sewed and sewed and ran a business for many years when my children were young. Never thought I'd sew on cards but it's fun. My die cut is the scallop which is a Stampin up product. For the 3 shades of pink if you couldn't tell is a paint chip (had to cut down slightly on the 2 outer edges) I stamped the flower and embossed them with white embossing powder. The thank you is also embossed and is a My Creative Time stamp from Vintage Sentiments. (Great stamp set use a lot)

New Vision Embossing

Hello,

I put up another video a couple of days ago in my new series.(Getting out those old embossing folders and dies and using them and incorporating them with the new stuff) I have had these dies and folder for some time. They didn't quite work how I thought they should so I never really used them. Well I got them out and figured out the best way to use them. So here is my video.

Just a set of 3 1/4 square cards.

Thanks,

Designer Challenge-- Nikki Foraker

Hello,

It is time for another designer challenge over at My Creative Time. Miss Nikki Navy Wife is leading it this time. The challenge is to use embossing either wet or dry or both.

Here is my project:

For this project this picture does not do it justice.I have got to set up a place to take pictures. I will try to explain my process.  I started out with an A2 sized card the gray cs is cut 4 1/6 x 5 5/16 and the blue cs is cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. The blue cs is core'dinations paper and I embossed it with an old sizzix embossing plate also sanded it.  I embossed the butterflies with white embossing powder on water color paper.  I used broken china distress ink over the butterflies.(used a kraft sheet for this process and then I distressed the edges)  I stamped Thinking of you from MCT Floral Sentiments stamp set and embossed it also. The hearts are MCT dies which I cut with the scrap watercolor paper with the distressed ink.

Thanks,

This card is a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 one.

This is an A2 sized card. I used all of the heart dies on this card and the sentiment is from MCT 100% Sweetness.

New Vision Embossing Video

Hello and welcome to another video in my series. In this video I use a beautiful heart embossing folder to create this card. I also used a tag cuttlebug die e and I stamped it with a MCT Stamp. The back ground is embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder. I finished it off with some ribbon and sanding (I used the core'dinations card stock). I don't think I ever used this folder and I have had it for a long time. It was fun to get it out especially this time of year but you could also use this for wedding, anniversary or other card.
  Here is my video:

Monday Challenge #84 - Wish Big!

Hello Everyone,

Well over at My Craft Spot with Kimberly this week the challenge is Wish Big! (anything birthday). I love making birthday cards it always seems like I need one. Well here is my card:

To start off my card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/2. The pink layer is cut 4 1/16 x 4 5/16 and the kraft is cut 3 3/8 x 3 5/8. I cut the image from the cricut cart Love you a Latte. I cut it at 3.5 inches and all pieces were cut in white. I do this sometimes it really makes cutting fast. Then I usually use my copics. This was a great image for this process (I don't recommend doing this for large pieces) Here are the colors I used. (E35, RV13, RV25, R46, G24, & E29) I used glossy accents on the top layer for the caramel sauce. My sentiment is from My Craft Spot Birthday Wishes. The banner is from MCT.

Thanks,
