Throwback Thursday

Hello Everyone,

I am entering Emma's Throwback Challenge

Here are the details for her challenge:
~ Must make an altered item using your Cricut cuts!
~Must use any OLDER Cartridge of YOUR choice
~ Deadline for this challenge is June 6th @ midnight PST

I altered a wooden frame. Here is what it looked like before I began:
First I painted it with gesso then a coat of  vintage white. I used my gypsy to cut out the pattern paper. I used 2 squares from George and basic shapes. Then I used Fancy Frames  and cut out the black frame I used on the pattern paper. I cut it out at 4.75 on the height and 6.75 for the width. I had to take the aspect ratio link off to achieve that size to fit the fame nice. I just love this cartridge. Finished it off with some prima flowers, Emma rolled flower die, pearls, distressing and leaf found in Create a Critter. Also distressing is done with black

Challenge Me Monday #112

Hello Everyone,

Well it is time over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog for another challenge.

 YOU DID IT!
Create a graduation project.
Remember to have at lease one cricut cut and please let us know what cartridge you used.

Here is my project:
I made 2 of these wallets and they are for the 2 senior co-editors of our high school yearbook.(Our colors are blue, gold and white) I thought this was the perfect gift for them (one male and one female). They are great students and have put a lot of time and effort into this. If you have ever done this before you know it is a great big undertaking. I love every minute of it.
I cut the wallet out of card stock 6 3/4 x 10 1/4 and scored at the 2 1/2 and 6 1/2. The white cs is also cut that size and I used a Martha Stewart punch on it. The flap is cut 1 1/2 x 6 1/2 and is attached with velcro.
Inside I hid a camera and there are 2 mini books inside for pictures. I will be starting it off with some pictures I have taken. Prom was last week and I got a few pictures of that and probably graduation I will get some.

Here is the girly version

Cartridges used on blue, gold and white:

CHS - Babysteps cut 1.25"
Graduation hat - Locker Talk cut 1.25"
Camera - Locker Talk cut 1.5"
2012 - George and Basic Shapes cut 1"
class of - Gypsy font cut 1"

I also used my 1/2" corner rounder crop-a-dile and I used magnets on the mini books.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the other projects from the Design Team at FCCB. Once you check them out go ahead a create a project and link it up. Don't forget to include at least one cricut cut.

I am also entering this in the Cricut Creative Cutter Room Challenge - Graduation - Challenge runs May 17 - 30

Wedding Towel Cake

Hello Everyone,

I went to a wedding shower this weekend for a friends daughter. She was registered at Wal mart but if you have ever tried to figure out what they exactly want from that print out you are doing good. The sale person was helping me and she didn't know either. So I bought towels in the colors it looked like she wanted to make my cake. I haven't had that much trouble from other stores in the past with gift registry.  I also bought a platter for the cake and after they take it apart I am sure they will find a use for it.  Also she can save some of the images I cut out and use them in scrapbooking later. Here are just a few of the pictures I took to share.
I am entering this in a challenge.

This show only the top 2 layers, the bottom picture has the 3rd layer.

I used the sweethearts cricut cartridge for most of the images, MCT (My Creative Time) flower dies for the flowers and Martha Stewart punch for the edges.

I also created a video on how assembled the cake and here it it. The cake took 2 regular towels and 2 hand towels.

I am entering this in a challenge at: diecuttindivas

Challenge Me Monday #110

Hello Everyone,

It is time again for Challenge Me Monday Over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

 #110 for May 7th  - Mother's Day
Make a project for your Mother, Grandmother or another special lady in your life using her favorite color. (ex. Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, etc.)

Here is my project:

My card is 5 1/2 square. I used the Teresa Collins Timeless paper collection.  When I bought this I didn't know what I was going to use it for but had to buy it.  Well, this was the perfect challenge for this because my mom and I love pink and when I was growing up we both liked pink and gray. I remember buying some gray pants and wearing pink shirts with them. That is why I chose this paper collection for the card. Now for the details: used my gypsy because I had to hide some cuts. I used Elegant edges for the frame in pink cut at 4". Forever young for the girl head cut at 3.25. The gray scallop was cut from Gypsy Wanderings  3.60w and 2.75h.  The silver paper is from Michael's and the ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  I used two new flower dies from My Creative Time and also used her stitched circle die and her Happy Mother's Day stamp from All around everything. I finished the card off by using my i-rock.
Inside the card.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:

Come see what the rest of the Design Team has to inspire you over at FCCB  After that create a project for this challenge and link it up so we can be inspired by you. Don't forget your project must have at least one cricut cut.

Here is my project:

I cut the base, birdhouse and fence all out of cereal boxes.  I glued either 2 or 3 layers together for support.  I made a pattern for the house and fence. (the fence was super easy)I covered the house in pattern paper and distressed it. The roof line was made using a border punch. Here is the base of the  pattern I made:
The sides and roof are just rectangles. My original pattern was in 2 pieces but I cut the birdhouse front and back in one. I cut the circle in the front with a nestability die.
I added the bird, flowers and branches to finish things off. I don't know if you can see it very good but I painted the fence with distress crackle paint in picket fence.
Now for my cricut cut:

I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge. I cut the  scallop out  at  .75 I also used vintage photo and distressed each piece. This is a picture of the roof a close up in the next picture I show how I made one side of the roof open.

Then inside I made 3 tiny eggs out of polymer clay. I even have little brown specs in them.

And last just another close up.

I had lots of fun doing this. I think I will cut up cereal  boxes again.

Now it's your turn! Let's see your Upcycled-Themed projects! Make sure to include a Cricut Cut somewhere on your project!

Challenge Me Monday #107

Hello Everyone,

Today over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog the Challenge is

April Showers

Make a project with an umbrella, rain, or clouds on it.
Use at least one cricut cut on your project.

Here is my project.
I used my gypsy and the Life is a Beach Cartridge.  I welded the image to create a shaped card. I cut the card out in white cs. I cut off the umbrella, straw and lemon from the front of the card. Then I cut out just the image in tan cs and cut off again the umbrella, straw and lemon. I then cut out the layer of the straw, umbrella, cherry and lemon in white cs. I then colored them with my copics, just played around with them. I then attached them to the back of the card to give it more stability. I added some stitching  and then I added the tag from MCT Stamp and die set. (On the welded card I had to cut some of the umbrella down because they also welded together)

I can't wait to see what you  create for this challenge.

Thanks,
Tammy

Challenge Me Monday #105

Hello Everyone,

This week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog the challenge is
Egg-ceptional Easter.

We are to create a project with an egg.

Here is my project:

It is not Easter without some grass, eggs, tulips and bunnies. I cut the bunny out at 3.5 and used my gypsy so I could use the hide contour for the face. I stamped a peachy keen critter face on him. The eggs and tulips were cut from A Child's Year. The eggs cut at 1.5 and the tulips cut at 2.5. The grass was cut from plantin schoolbook at 1.25.  I decorated this bucket and added some candy along with some cut finely yellow paper for grass inside. I cut out the eggs in white card stock and used my copics to decorate. I used a technique that used 3 colors and the blender. (you just keep dotting the eggs all over until you are happy with them, using all 3 colors and blender).  I added ribbon on the handle and lots of goodies inside.

Here is another close up

Please join us at FCCB for this exciting challenge. The design team has some wonderful inspiration.

Thanks,
Tammy
